Take a look at some wedding disasters that you can learn from to prepare you for your big day!
No matter how thorough you are with your wedding planner, accidents and misfortunes can happen. Vendors can disappear, your wedding dress might get ruined and you may not have a clear head count for the caterer either. Whatever happens though, the most important thing to know is that you should handle these situations with grace, diplomacy and a good dose of strength. Sure, they may sound like the absolute nightmare all brides have to avoid – but being prepared for the worst is just as important as planning for the best.
What are some of the (horrifyingly) common wedding disasters and how to handle them? Read on and find out more.
Disappearing vendor. You have chosen your vendor, you have made the deposit and you have even signed a contract. And yet, just a few weeks before your wedding, you cannot find him/her whatever you do. This is a true nightmare indeed, but keep yourself focused and try searching for a quick alternative (such as a backup photographer instead of the one who bailed on you).
Your dress gets wrecked. You spent so much time searching for the one and now that it is finally back and fully altered, you realize that it got ruined by the dry cleaner or by the seamstress that worked on it. Don’t despair! Find an experienced pro and see how things can be repaired. With a talented seamstress, a bit of creativity and a lot of open mindedness on your side, your dress will look amazing on you.
Your RSVPs don’t come back. This is a classic scenario, so be prepared to embrace it. Simply call all the guests who haven’t sent their RSVPs and ask them to confirm. Explain politely that you need a head count and that they should tell you whether or not they can attend the wedding.
