Once you’ve said “Yes”, it is time to celebrate with an Engagement Party!
Congratulations! You have finally said “Yes” and you’re on your way to the big “I Do”!
What now, though? Should you plan an engagement party? If so, what are some of the most important things to remember about planning this party?
We have gathered some tips for you – so read on to find out more about this.
Traditionally, the parents of the bride are the ones who plan the engagement party. However, the parents of the groom are free to plan a party of their own – or even come together and plan a larger party too. These days, a lot of couples choose to have their own engagement party as well – so it’s perfectly fine if you want to plan everything on your own.
Choose your engagement date wisely. It should be a few months into the actual engagement, right before you start seriously planning your wedding day. Also, make sure you choose a date (and a location!) that is convenient to as many of the guests as possible. It is not uncommon that couples have multiple engagement parties precisely because they want to celebrate with all of their friends and relatives, even when they are located very far away.
Keep it simple with the invitations. You don’t need anything too fancy or too expensive. Inviting people yourself or sending them an email is more than OK. Also, keep in mind that it has become more acceptable to invite people you don’t plan on inviting at the wedding too.
